It is always a joy to spend the day in the mountains getting supplies and seeing friends. The Marble/marble Symposium is one of the most peaceful places on Earth.

Droplet

This is the largest piece of marble that Aaron has taken on in a while. Its symmetry is stunning and it will be fun to see it on a permanent base. A few more hours and this one will be finished!

We have no name for this piece yet, but we are working on it! Any suggestions are welcome.
Art Opening this Friday Dec. 6th
Aaron is showcasing his entire current series of stone sculptures at the Kurtzman Linntott Gallery on 4th and Main in Grand Junction, Co. Please stop in from 6 to 9pm and spend a few minutes looking around! We are excited to display his current works and would love to spend some time saying “hi” to friends. Have a great week and we hope to see you Friday!
Gilded Shell
The surprise came with the iridescence that polishing brought out of this rock.
The color was intriguing all along and the clean bowl shape came out beautifully but when we saw it sparkle we fell in love with this piece. The offset base blends so well it is like one found it on the bottom of the sea like this.
Spiral Shell
Often people’s favorite from this series, this limestone piece stands at 25 inches in height. Each spiral section was calculated using the naturally occurring geometric relationship of the golden ratio and I used a rasp and a bush hammer to texture it. It is currently for sale and on display at the Blue Pig Gallery.
